Spring trimming of MHHA‑maintained common‑area trees will begin soon. This project focuses on:
Removing dead, dying, or low‑hanging branches.
Ensuring proper clearance from adjacent homeowner property.
Inspecting trees for overall health, with removals only when necessary.
Homeowners remain responsible for the care and condition of any trees rooted on their own property (including front and side yards.).
To ensure accurate assessment, trimming will begin once trees start to bud or leaf, allowing arborists to distinguish healthy growth from dead wood. Weather permitting, work is expected to begin in late March or early April.
The ARC Committee and the Board have completed an update to the MHHA Architectural Guide. The Committee has also refreshed the Homeowner Self‑Inspection Checklist, which supports the annual community‑wide inspections conducted by FSR, our management company. FSR will begin scheduling the inspection soon. We'll update the community as to the date when it becomes known.
Both the updated Architectural Guide and the self‑inspection checklist are available for download on the Architectural Information page of this website. Architectural Information | Marshall Heights HOA
Revised Garbage Collection policy is in effect (adopted March 20, 2025) - No loose paper bags are to be placed curbside - ever. The board wishes to thank the community for your diligent efforts to reduce loose trash blowing about the neighborhood on collection days (Tuesdays & Fridays). We currently have 89% compliance with the “no loose paper bag” policy, and it's making a difference, thank you.
Some Rules and Reminders at a Glance
No exterior modifications without approval. See the MHHA Architectural Guide for details.
Please drive slowly in the community; Marshall Heights children are at play.
The Fairfax County Leash Law is enforced on MHHA property. Dogs must be leashed at all times, and owners must pick up and dispose of waste.
Garbage Collection – Trash and recycling containers (bins) may not be placed at the curb before 6 p.m. on the night preceding scheduled pickup days. Trash must be placed in sealed plastic bags or appropriate trash containers. Recycling materials must be contained in appropriately marked bins or containers, or alternatively in clear plastic bags. No loose paper bags (trash or recycling) are ever allowed curbside with the exception of commercially available recycling bags for landscaping materials only (grass clippings & leaves, etc.) All cardboard boxes must be broken down and secured to prevent them from being blown about the neighborhood. Trash cans and recycling bins must be stored in backyards or garages, away from public view. All bins and containers should be removed as soon as practical following collection, but no later than the following day.
